Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR8A2P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR8A2P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where OR8A2P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR8A2P is over-expressed in tumor.
KIRP and BRCA are the cancer types where OR8A2P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
