Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR7E2P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR7E2P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where OR7E2P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR7E2P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, LUSC, and BRCA are the cancer types where OR7E2P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
