Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR5P1P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR5P1P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where OR5P1P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR5P1P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BRCA, LUAD, and LUSC are the cancer types where OR5P1P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
