OR5H8

associated omics data
olfactory receptor family 5 subfamily H member 8 (gene/pseudogene)Genealiases: OR3-7 · OR5H8P

Q-omics provides the consensus-scored OR5H8 profile across patient tissues and cancer cell-line models. OR5H8 expression is associated with patient survival in 9 of 34 cancer types, with the highest sampling consensus in BRCA. Among the 18 cancer types available for tumor–normal comparison, OR5H8 is differentially expressed in 8, with the highest sampling consensus in LUSC. Additionally, OR5H8 RNA expression shows 6,633 significant pathway-activity associations, with the highest sampling consensus in STAD. Together, these results highlight BRCA, LUSC, and STAD as cancer lineages where OR5H8 shows reproducible signals across survival, tumor–normal expression, and patient cross-omics analyses.

Every result is evaluated using two consensus scores. Sampling consensus measures how consistently a finding is reproduced within a cancer lineage across different conditions. Lineage consensus measures how broadly the result is shared across cancer types, distinguishing pan-cancer signals from lineage-specific patterns.

Survival associations

This table summarizes OR5H8 survival associations across molecular data types. OR5H8 RNA expression shows survival associations in the most cancer types (9). The rightmost column indicates the cancer type with the highest sampling consensus for each molecular layer.

This table ranks reproducible OR5H8 RNA expression–survival associations across cancer types. High OR5H8 expression shows unfavorable associations in BRCA, STAD, KIRC, MESO and LGG, but favorable associations in LUSC. The BRCA Kaplan–Meier curve shows clear separation, with the high-expression group declining faster, consistent with the unfavorable association (log-rank p = .005). Together, the overview and detailed table identify BRCA as the clearest survival context for OR5H8 RNA expression.

This table ranks reproducible tumor–normal expression differences for OR5H8. A negative fold-change indicates higher expression in normal tissue than in tumor tissue. OR5H8 shows lower tumor expression in KIRC and higher tumor expression in LUSC, LIHC, PRAD, LUAD and STAD. The LUSC box plot shows higher OR5H8 RNA expression in tumor versus normal tissue (log2 FC = +0.070, t-test p < 0.001).

Cross-omics associations

This table shows molecular features associated with OR5H8 in patient tissues and cancer cell lines. In patient samples, OR5H8 shows the broadest associations at the RNA and protein expression levels, with STAD recurring as the lineage with the largest associated feature set. In cancer cell lines, OR5H8 RNA and mutation anchors are most strongly linked to RNA-expression features, especially in BONE, while CRISPR and shRNA rows add functional-dependency signals in URINARY_TRACT.
