Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR2W2P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR2W2P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where OR2W2P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR2W2P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BRCA, HNSC, and KIRC are the cancer types where OR2W2P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
