Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR2T8 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR2T8’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where OR2T8 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR2T8 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, COAD, and BRCA are the cancer types where OR2T8 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
