Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR2AS2P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR2AS2P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where OR2AS2P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR2AS2P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP are the cancer types where OR2AS2P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
