Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR2A3P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR2A3P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where OR2A3P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR2A3P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, THCA, and BRCA are the cancer types where OR2A3P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
