Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR13Z2P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR13Z2P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where OR13Z2P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR13Z2P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, UCEC, and HNSC are the cancer types where OR13Z2P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
