Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OPN1LW RNA is linked to patient survival in 13 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated OPN1LW data layer compared with 4 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where higher OPN1LW RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated OPN1LW expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC show a favorable association.

BLCA, SCLC, and UVM are the cancer types where OPN1LW RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
