Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ODC1-DT RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ODC1-DT’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where ODC1-DT RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ODC1-DT is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, LIHC, and KICH are the cancer types where ODC1-DT tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
