Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NKX2-8 RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated NKX2-8 data layer compared with 4 for mutation status and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher NKX2-8 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated NKX2-8 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as READ and LUAD show a favorable association.
HNSC, KIRC, and STAD are the cancer types where NKX2-8 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
