Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NICN2P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NICN2P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where NICN2P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NICN2P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BRCA, COAD, and THCA are the cancer types where NICN2P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
