Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NFATC2IP RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NFATC2IP’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where NFATC2IP RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NFATC2IP is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

HNSC, KIRC, and LIHC are the cancer types where NFATC2IP tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
