Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MYT1L mass-spec protein differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MYT1L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where MYT1L mass-spec protein is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MYT1L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as CCRCC and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
CCRCC and LUAD are the cancer types where MYT1L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
