Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MYLK-AS2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MYLK-AS2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where MYLK-AS2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MYLK-AS2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, BLCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where MYLK-AS2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
