Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MVK mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MVK data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher MVK mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MVK expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and COAD show a favorable association.
CCRCC, COAD, and PDAC are the cancer types where MVK mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
