Across TCGA patient cohorts, MUC5B protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 10,698 significant associations in total. GBM shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible MUC5B-associated genes across cancer lineages are TFF3, SPDEF, and BPIFB2. Each is linked with MUC5B in more than 6 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both MUC5B-to-partner and partner-to-MUC5B results are reported.
