Across TCGA patient cohorts, MUC16 protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 6,649 significant associations in total. PDAC shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible MUC16-associated genes across cancer lineages are SLPI, PLEKHS1, and CP. Each is linked with MUC16 in more than 4 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both MUC16-to-partner and partner-to-MUC16 results are reported.
