Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTUS2-AS2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTUS2-AS2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where MTUS2-AS2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTUS2-AS2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and PAAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KICH, BRCA, and PAAD are the cancer types where MTUS2-AS2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
