Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTND5P16 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTND5P16’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), where MTND5P16 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTND5P16 is over-expressed in tumor.
ESCA are the cancer types where MTND5P16 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
