Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTND5P14 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTND5P14’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where MTND5P14 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTND5P14 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, THCA, and LIHC are the cancer types where MTND5P14 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
