Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTND3P23 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTND3P23’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where MTND3P23 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTND3P23 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and PAAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, COAD, and PAAD are the cancer types where MTND3P23 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
