Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTND1P14 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTND1P14’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where MTND1P14 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTND1P14 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and CHOL show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, BRCA, and CHOL are the cancer types where MTND1P14 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
