Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTHFD2L mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MTHFD2L data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), where higher MTHFD2L mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MTHFD2L expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as GBM and CCRCC show a favorable association.
PDAC, GBM, and CCRCC are the cancer types where MTHFD2L mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
