Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTCO3P40 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTCO3P40’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where MTCO3P40 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTCO3P40 is over-expressed in tumor.
LIHC, HNSC, and LUAD are the cancer types where MTCO3P40 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
