Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTCO3P38 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTCO3P38’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where MTCO3P38 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTCO3P38 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC and KIRP are the cancer types where MTCO3P38 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
