Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTCO2P25 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTCO2P25’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where MTCO2P25 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTCO2P25 is over-expressed in tumor.
KIRP are the cancer types where MTCO2P25 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
