Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTCO1P8 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTCO1P8’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where MTCO1P8 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTCO1P8 is over-expressed in tumor.
BLCA are the cancer types where MTCO1P8 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
