Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTCO1P39 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTCO1P39’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where MTCO1P39 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTCO1P39 is over-expressed in tumor.
KIRP, KIRC, and LIHC are the cancer types where MTCO1P39 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
