Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTCO1P25 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTCO1P25’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where MTCO1P25 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTCO1P25 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LIHC and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC and KIRC are the cancer types where MTCO1P25 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
