Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTATP8P2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTATP8P2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where MTATP8P2 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTATP8P2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and LIHC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KICH, and LIHC are the cancer types where MTATP8P2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
