Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT1DP RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MT1DP’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where MT1DP RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MT1DP is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, COAD, and KICH are the cancer types where MT1DP tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
