Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-TW RNA is linked to patient survival in 16 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MT-TW data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where higher MT-TW RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT-TW expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LAML show a favorable association.

LIHC, STAD, and MESO are the cancer types where MT-TW RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
