Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-TL2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MT-TL2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where MT-TL2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MT-TL2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as CHOL and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, CHOL, and LUAD are the cancer types where MT-TL2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
