Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-TI RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MT-TI data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher MT-TI RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT-TI expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CESC and SKCM show a favorable association.

KIRC, UCS, and CESC are the cancer types where MT-TI RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
