Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-TH RNA is linked to patient survival in 18 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MT-TH data layer.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where higher MT-TH RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT-TH expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KICH and BLCA show a favorable association.
KICH, BLCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where MT-TH RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
