Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MST1R RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MST1R’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where MST1R RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MST1R is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, THCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where MST1R tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
