Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MSMP RNA is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MSMP data layer compared with 2 for mutation status and 1 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in small cell lung cancer (SCLC), where higher MSMP RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MSMP expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SCLC show a favorable association.
SCLC are the cancer types where MSMP RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
