Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MRPL42 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MRPL42 data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where higher MRPL42 mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MRPL42 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as COAD and LSCC show a favorable association.

COAD, LSCC, and CCRCC are the cancer types where MRPL42 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
