Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIRLET7G RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIRLET7G’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where MIRLET7G RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIRLET7G is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BRCA, STAD, and LUSC are the cancer types where MIRLET7G tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
