Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR544B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR544B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where MIR544B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR544B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, STAD, and KIRP are the cancer types where MIR544B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
