Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR4686 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR4686’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where MIR4686 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR4686 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LIHC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, HNSC, and LUSC are the cancer types where MIR4686 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
