Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR4522 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR4522’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where MIR4522 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR4522 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, STAD, and THCA are the cancer types where MIR4522 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
