Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR4446 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR4446’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in rectum adenocarcinoma (READ), where MIR4446 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR4446 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as READ and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
READ, COAD, and KIRC are the cancer types where MIR4446 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
