Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR4284 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR4284’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where MIR4284 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR4284 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, THCA, and COAD are the cancer types where MIR4284 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
