Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR361 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR361’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in rectum adenocarcinoma (READ), where MIR361 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR361 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
READ, HNSC, and LUSC are the cancer types where MIR361 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
