Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR3135A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR3135A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where MIR3135A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR3135A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA are the cancer types where MIR3135A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
