Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR29B2CHG RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR29B2CHG’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where MIR29B2CHG RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR29B2CHG is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, HNSC, and LUAD are the cancer types where MIR29B2CHG tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
