Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR16-1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 8 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MIR16-1 data layer compared with 1 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC), where higher MIR16-1 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MIR16-1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
CESC, SKCM, and LGG are the cancer types where MIR16-1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
